  but not according to me.. for the number of jws still going strong the ones here is but a handful, so mabye most of you are just pitiful whiners who should accept a little personal responsibility for your lives and quit trying so hard to blame someone or something.

  and is the following reasonable?you have the right to do anything you want on this board ... it would be 'nice' if the name didn't say 'forum for jehovah's witnesses' though.

  You are NOT an airhead!!! Don't let anyone label you. First of all they can only do it with your permission ... so spit in their eye and then ignore them.

  Look at the labels I've been given here ... who cares? I just consider the source.

  Thank you so much for drawing this to my attention. The years involved here do not affect me or my family. Maybe since then the thought has changed. All I can say is none of us were admonished for our decisions or suffered any bad consequences. That's my story and I'm sticken' to it.

  You are right, I did get some help for my question for elders on my own posting.

  The other day I had a 'dust up' on another posting about the JWs getting people 'in' and keeping them there ... jgnats posting ... that is where the 'whiner' got that quote of mine, not from the posting you are refering to.

  I appreciate the help I got and said so but in case someone missed it I will officially thank all those ex elders again. And thank you for being respectful to me.

  Thanks for your reasonableness (if there is such a word ... anyway you know what I mean.) In my (former) circle in my KH it definitely was expected that the young would prefer to pioneer and would possibly lose privilleges for going for higher education; however my family chose the later and didn't suffer in the society for the choice.

  Sounds like your father was of the same mind as my family.

  Sure, you can send links. But as we speak, I have relatives who are getting higher education and are still in good standing. I'm talking university, community college and trade schools. None of my rellies ever got in any hot soup for getting educated to be able to properly support themselves. Pioneering was always the top option but no one ever stopped any from schooling either.

  If I were incined to believe everything I read here, there would be nothing but totally iliterate JWs walking this earth, having all quit school after elementary school.

  Compared to non-JWs I don't see a great difference in education levels. By choice most of my relatives are educated and earning decent livings while being faithful JWs. No one ever said we couldn't further our educations. Some have chosen to work at labour-intensive jobs too and are doing very well financialy.

  But then cream rises to the top ...
